Ordinance No. 18-06; an Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Coolidge, Arizona, Extending and Increasing the Corporate Limits of the City of Coolidge, Pinal County, State of Arizona, Pursuant to the Provisions of Title 9, Chapter 4, Article 7, Arizona Revised Statutes and Amendments Thereto, by Annexing Thereto Certain Territory Contiguous to the Existing City Limits of the City of Coolidge Consisting of 432.6 Acres, More or Less, and Located Within Sections 7, 18 and 19, Township 6 South, Range 9 East, of the Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian, Pinal County, Arizona, Known as the PLH Storey Annexation; and Authorizing the Pinal County Zoning to Continue in Effect for Said Annexed Territory Until City of Coolidge Zoning is Applied to Said Territory, But in No Event Longer Than Six (6) Months After the Effective Date of the Annexation.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve Ordinance No. 18-06 related to the PLH Storey Annexation.

 

DISCUSSION

This property is part of the ongoing effort to annex the remaining PLH properties per the terms of the Development Agreement executed between PLH and the City.  This annexation also includes two properties owned by other entities that requested to be included and a parcel owned by Arizona Water Company.

 

City staff recorded a blank annexation petition with the Pinal County recorder on June 6, 2017.  The annexation involves approximately 432 acres of land located on the Southeast corner of Kleck and Wheeler roads.  The City held a public hearing on the Storey Annexation on July 10, 2017 in accordance with State Statute. 

 

The City of Coolidge has obtained the required number of signatures on the annexation petition to allow the Mayor and City Council to approve the Annexation Ordinance at this time
